Programmes
SAFCOL's skills development initiatives support Government objectives through structured graduate programmes, learnerships, apprenticeships and internships in forestry and related disciplines. Training takes place at the Platorand Training Centre in Sabie, Mpumalanga.

Mechanised Harvesting Learnership
A 10-month learnership programme focused on mechanised timber harvesting operations. Open to candidates aged 18-35.
Artisan Development Programme
A 3-year apprenticeship programme based at the Timbadola sawmill, developing skilled artisans for the forestry and processing sectors.
Silviculture Learnership
A 10-month learnership in silviculture practices, covering plantation establishment, maintenance and sustainable forest management.
YES Programme (Internship)
A 12-month internship under the Youth Employment Service initiative, designed for forestry graduates seeking practical work experience.
General Forestry Learnership
A 10-month entry-level learnership at NQF Level 1, providing foundational skills in general forestry operations and plantation management.
